Kia Ora! I'm Anaru Puketapu, a budding Maori creative practitioner. Recently achieving a milestone with a Bachelor of Creative Media Production and an Honours degree in Screen Arts, specializing in Animation. My fascination with this medium dates back to my early years, captivated by the enchantment of movies and video games.

Growing up, a strong desire to immerse myself in the creative realm took root, leading me to explore the multifaceted world of media. The allure of storytelling and the artistic aspects of the creative industry instantly resonated with me. Throughout this journey, I not only honed my skills in creation but delved into the profound meanings that underlie our work. Art, in our field, serves as a powerful tool to tell stories, influence, teach, and much more.

As a Maori individual, it's both a blessing and a privilege to navigate this creative space, one that traditionally sees fewer Maori or Pacifica representation. I embrace this opportunity to pave a path for younger generations, encouraging them to explore and pursue creative fields, weaving their unique stories into the fabric of our creative tapestry

In addition to my studies, I have gained practical experience in the industry through works I have done such as collaborating with a friend to create a New Zealand NFT project, which received support from various artists, content creators, and industry professionals. I have also done freelance work for clients such as Maori Millionaire, a renowned influential page that provides resources to help Maori within the financial sector.
